Santa Clara County Announces Expanded Testing Options and Self-Administered Testing
Santa Clara County Public Health Officials are reporting double the rate of positive COVID-19 test results –from 2 percent to 4 percent– over the past month and have announced expanded availability and options at testing sites throughout the County. The drop-in testing site at Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Jose will offer an observed self-administered nasal swab, a testing method that has the potential to increase the number of people getting tested. Testing hours are also expanding at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds mass-testing facility, which will begin operating seven days a week with extra hours from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. during the peak mid-week period. This will increase testing capacity to 5,000 per day on those days.
