Walking & Rolling | Transit | Carpooling | Driving
Palo Alto is served by a number of public transportation options. These include the VTA, SamTrans, and limited PAUSD Bus Service. Not every destination is served by transit, but the resources on this page can help to see whether this will work for your family.
PAUSD School Bus
Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) offers limited transportation to our students for a fee. All students must have a pass to ride the bus. Voluntary Transfer Program (VTP) and low-income students may be eligible for a free pass. For more information about this program click here.
VTA/SamTrans/ParaTransit
The VTA offers an online Trip Planner for all their busses, including bus 288 to Gunn. SamTrans offers their Schedules tool. In addition, there are also the VTA ParaTransit and SamTrans ParaTransit pages. Google maps allows you to plan multimodal trips, combining transit with walking or biking.
